The Magic of Vermont

Located in the mountains of Northern Vermont, Sterling Forest is named after the majestic forest that surrounds the Lodge. With over 30 acres of trails and paths to explore, and a hidden pond in the woods, you have access to pristine nature.

Connect to Nature

A core experience at the lodge is spending meaningful, quality time in nature.  Whether that's a guided mindful outdoor experience through our woods, mountain biking in the surrounding forest, or snowshoeing along our frozen brook, we provide the means and motivation to get you out there.

Our Land

Sterling Forest is located up a long dirt road in a quiet mountain valley above Stowe, Vermont. Once your arrive, you immediately feel the peace and quiet of our zone in your bones. The Lodge itself has sweeping views of Vermont's famous Green Mountains and the property sits on 30 pristine acres of fields, forests and an old apple orchard. We have miles of easily accessible trails to explore in any season, and quiet spaces to sit and relax. Our organic garden helps feed guests in the warmer months and we have nightly fires in our firepit overlooking the mountains.

Trails? Trails.

With over 30 acres of trails and meditation paths, there's a cornucopia of magical forest to explore. No matter what the season, we offer easy access to get out into nature and experience the healing power of our surrounding forest.

Snowshoe along the creek path. Saunter with the elders along the White Pine Path. Find yourself at Yin Pond for a refreshing dip at our spring fed swimming spot. Meander amongst the apple orchard and take a bite out of nature.

You may just find yourself outside all day in the woods.

Yin Pond

Winter or Summer, Yin pond is our magical little wonderland in the woods. Healing, spring-fed water constantly flow into the pond making it a perfect place to take a clean dip in warmer months or in the colder ones if you're feeling adventurous! Occasionally we turn the pond into a skating rink for fun on the ice and bon fires on the shore. Or just sit in the adirondack chairs with a book and watch nature come alive for you.

Sterling Valley

Sterling Forest is located in one of Stowe's more untouched areas called Sterling Valley. Known by locals to hold a special, magical energy, the Valley is home to over 2000 protected acres of hiking and mountain bike trails, backcountry and XC skiing, and deep nature exploring.

And the trailhead is just a minute down the road.
